Pela primeira vez na história, a premiação televisiva acontecerá virtualmente

O Emmy Award é a premiação mais importante para os profissionais do audiovisual televisivo e acontece desde o ano de 1948. Em 2020, ela será apresentada em 20 de setembro, com formato inédito, devido à pandemia do novo Coronavírus. Considerado o segundo país com mais casos da Covid-19, os Estados Unidos mantêm normas de isolamento social, que levaram a organização do evento a mudarem o formato da premiação.

A readaptação está acontecendo na rotina de todos, desde o início do isolamento social mais rígido em todo o mundo, e não surpreendeu o público. Eventos importantes foram acompanhados no conforto de casa, como a Comic-Con 2020 e a 78ª Convenção Mundial de Ficção Científica.

Desde que os serviços de steaming conquistaram espaço na premiação do Emmy Award, as empresas consagradas notaram a mudança no consumo de conteúdo e a pressão por representatividade, mudanças na narrativa e uma concorrência mais forte. No entanto, parece ser contraditório ao ver a produção Watchmen, da HBO, receber 26 indicações. A Netflix, no entanto, ainda lidera o número de indicações, com 160 contra 107 da HBO.
